Naomi Ruth Priest of Spearfish, SD passed away peacefully Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

Naomi was born to Chad and Ruthie (Schaffhauser) Priest on October 25, 2025, in Rapid City, SD. Prior to her birth, doctors diagnosed Naomi with anencephaly, a condition that is terminal for a child after birth.

Family and friends prayed for a miracle, received one, named her Naomi, and held their miracle for the entirety of her 90-minute life. Naomi's parents have pictures of their young daughter, an imprint of her tiny knit-together foot and toes, a video of cousins singing around her candle-lit birthday cake, all serving as a reminder of Naomi's beautiful time this side of heaven- loved, embraced by her mom, held by her dad, poked at by her big brother, one-year-old Chase.

Her parents dedicated Naomi to the Lord and rejoice in the hope that she moved straight from their arms to the arms of Jesus and joined a family of believers in heaven.

Naomi is survived by parents Chad and Ruthie Priest, and brother Chase, all of Spearfish, SD, maternal grandparents Jake and Orpha Schaffhauser of Newfolden, MN, paternal grandparents Bill and Joyce Priest of Naples, FL, aunts and uncles Anne (Cory) Freier, Erich (Maria) Schaffhauser, Philip (Kristin) Schaffhauser, Carrie (Moca) Sonjaya, and cousins McKenzie and Aubrie Freier, Joci, Lucy and Will Schaffhauser, Autumn, Addy and Emily Schaffhauser, Isla and Emily Sonjaya.

Funeral services will be at 9:30AM, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel. Burial will immediately follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery.
