Mildred Jenny Riggs, 93, of Spearfish passed away Wednesday, September 19th, 2007 at her home.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M., Monday, September 24, 2007 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spearfish with Pastor Kent Stillson and Laura Campbell, Lay Minister officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.

A memorial has been established to benefit; Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the High Plains Western Heritage Center both of Spearfish.

Mildred was born July 30, 1914 to Jens and Martha Rolfsness in Rhame, North Dakota, one of a family of three sisters and six brothers. Mildred was raised on a farm near Rhame and graduated from Rhame High School in 1932. Mildred married James Riggs in Bowman, North Dakota on November 25th 1938. She was a loving homemaker and mother in addition to being the bookkeeper for the family business for many years.
Mildred was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church for over fifty years.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim", son, Milton James in infancy, her parents, sisters, Bergit and Nellie and four brothers; Clarence, Orvin, Ingvald and Melvin.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Riggs of Alamo, CA and Jess (Norma) Riggs of Spearfish, five grandchildren; Rod Riggs of Danville, CA, Tanya (Marco) Castillo of Danville, CA and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Minta (Will) Leslie of Anderson, CA, Riley (Jamie) Riggs of Santa Rosa, CA and Jerry Jeff Riggs of Spearfish, six great-grandchildren; Linsey, Zachary and Lucas Riggs, Dominique and Marc Riggs-Castillo and William Leslie. Mildred is also survived by two brothers, Thorvald and Oscar Rolfsness of Bowman, ND, one sister, Murl Gamble of Hemet CA and many nieces and nephews as well as many close friends.
