Obituary

Mildred "Millie" Fae Morrison, 68 of Lead joined her heavenly Father on March 21, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer. Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Millie was born to William and Lydia (Krenz) Lange on May 19, 1946, in Carington, ND. She married Arthur Morrison on June 6, 1969. They made their home in Lead, SD where she worked for Homestake Mining Company for 21 years as a supervisor. During retirement she enjoyed working as a caretaker for private rental owners and going to garage sales. Her greatest "job" however, was taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Millie is survived by her husband, Arthur, sons; Daniel and wife Shanon Morrison, Robert and wife JuliAnn Morrison, grandchildren; BJ and wife Angie Morrison, Kyle Morrison, Preston and wife Amanda Morrison, Makayla Morrison, Tyler Morrison and Tallen Morrison; great grandchildren Jaxson, Dakota, Aubree and Cyler; step grandchildren Amanda and her husband Dustin Stephens, Kate Morrison, Ryan Morrison and step great grandchildren Colin, Xavier and Bryce; two brothers and two sisters.

She is preceded in death by her parents, stepson Virgil Morrison, four brothers and one sister.

Millie chose to be cremated and her ashes will be inurned at Black Hills National Cemetery at 9 am, Thursday, March 26, 2015. Her celebration of life service will be at 11 am, Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead, SD. A luncheon will be held after the service at the Deadwood VFW.

To honor Millie, the family asks that in lieu of flowers all donations be made to Hospice of the Northern Hills, 1440 N. Main St., Spearfish, SD 57783, for the excellent care they provided to her.
