Mildred L. Knodel, 91, formerly of Spearfish South Dakota, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at Allen Hospital, Waterloo Iowa.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 6, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Reverend Gene Bauman officiating, burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mildred was born December 1, 1918 in Nemo South Dakota the daughter of Andrew and Mamie (Koski) Boint. Mildred attended school in Nemo and graduated from Lead High School. She married William Knodel on Dec 11, 1937. The couple lived at the Black Hills Army Depot in Igloo, where Mildred taught piano lessons and worked as a cashier at the Black Hills Army Depot Credit Union. They later moved to Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado before returning to the Black Hills and settling in Spearfish.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Wieman, Waterloo, Iowa, two grandchildren James (& Angel) Wieman of Waterloo and John (& Jessica) Wieman of Cedar Rapids Iowa and special niece, Helen Gaskins of Nisland.
She was preceded in death by her husband in August of 1996, her parents, three brothers, Ernest, Harold, and Raymond, and one sister, Hazel Boint.
