Mildred Durfee, 84 of Sundance, Wyoming died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Sundance Assisted Care following a brief illness with Lou Gehrig's disease.
Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M., Friday, February 11, 2011 at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Sundance United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Green Mountain Cemetery.

Mildred was born May 25, 1926 to Leland and Mildred Price (Rees) Landers near Sundance. She attended school in Sundance and graduated from Sundance High School. She enrolled at the University of Wyoming and graduated with a degree in Nutrition and Secondary Education. She married Jay Russell Durfee in Sundance. The couple made their home in Upton, Wyoming where they owned and operated a store. In 1959 the couple moved to Sundance where they again owned and operated a department store. Jay passed away in 1971 and Mildred continued to run the store, enjoying the challenge of the work and the markets. Following retirement Mildred enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the Sundance United Methodist Church where she was active in teaching Sunday school and Bible studies and served on the various boards. Mildred enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children; Shirley (Don) Tranas of Greybull, WY, Peggy (Jerry) Hyatt of Casper, WY, Chuck (Loretta) Durfee of Sundance, WY, Jim (Kim) Durfee of Sundance, WY and Judy (Brett) Moline of Laramie, WY, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Pricilla and great-grandchild, Felicia Herrera.
