Obituary

Mick Welch, 65 of Lead passed away peacefully on Monday August 9, 2010 at Spearfish Regional Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead with Pastor Steve Agan officiating.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
Mick was born December 22, 1944 in Douglas, Wyoming the daughter of Edward and Naomi Kunesh. She went through grade school in Torrington, WY, then the family moved to Hawk Springs, WY, where she attended high school and there she met and married the love of her life, Dennace Welch on November 26th 1961. The couple left Wyoming in 1967 with their three children and moved to Lead, SD where they made their home in Nevada Gulch for the next forty years.
Mick was a homemaker for the first part of their marriage and later worked at various jobs which included Circle Foods, Hi-Grade Convenience Mart and the Stagecoach Gift House. She will be remembered as a dear friend to all, but most of all as a devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and sister. Mick loved being around family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo, card games and dice games. She was an avid collector of oil lamps and music boxes, but her true passion in life was bowling. She will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dennace Welch of Lead, daughters, Denise Welch of Lead and Danelle (Jamie) Gerbracht of Prairie City, SD, son, Darrin Welch of Rapid City, SD, special niece, Julie Stevenson and special nephew, Jeff Stevenson both of Rapid City, grandchildren; Cody Gerbracht, Alyssa Gerbracht, Natasha Welch-Gerbracht and Terri Welch-Kempf, sister, Kayce Weber of Torrington, WY, many extended family members as well as many nieces and nephews and the compassionate caregivers at Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Dennace George Welch Jr., her parents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and sister, Enid Lind.
