Michael Weiers, 55, of Spearfish, SD, died from a short illness on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, July15, 2007 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, July 16, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Spearfish, with Pastor Dar Berkenpas officiating, burial will follow at Mt. Lawn Cemetery near Lead, SD.

A memorial will be established.

Michael was born January 3, 1952 in Deadwood, SD, to William and Elaine Weiers. He graduated from Lead High School in 1970. He worked for Homestake Mine for 27 years. Michael married Lorie Baumann in 1984 and they had three children.

Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed prairie hunting with his sons and his father.

Michael is survived by his father William Weiers of Sturgis, SD, his son Tyler Weiers and grandson, Braiden of Spearfish, his daughter Amy Weiers and grandchildren Nathan Uhall and Cecily Weiers of Spearfish, and three sisters, Lin Carr of Deadwood, SD, Barb Wherry of Tucson, AZ, and Carol Brumagim of Loveland, CO.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother Elaine Watson and his son Peter Michael Weiers.
