Obituary

Melvin S. Frasier, 80, Spearfish died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the David M. Dorsett Regional Senior Care Center in Spearfish.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M, Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish, inurnment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.

A memorial has been established to benefit the local Meals on Wheels Program.

Melvin was born August 31, 1926 the oldest of twelve children to Houston and Marie (Lenhoff) Frasier in Faulkton, SD. He moved with his family to Spearfish in 1939. Melvin married Lucy Ammons in 1953 to this union six children where born; Mabelle, Melvin Lee, Lois, Diane, Darnell and Colleen. Melvin was a heavy equipment operator and welder in the construction industry. He enjoyed traveling to new areas, reading, playing cards and visiting family and friends. Melvin was a past member of the Eagles Club.

Melvin is survived by six children; Mabelle (John) Vantrease of Washington, Melvin Lee (Cari) Frasier, South Dakota, Lois (Adam) Comacho of Colorado, Diane (Ian) Cowan of Washington, Darnell Morris of Idaho and Colleen Rauchy of Idaho, three brothers; Duane of Arizona, Bob of Minnesota and Lyle of Wyoming, five sisters; Doris and Rose of South Dakota, Margaret of Nebraska, Kathryn of Arkansas and Mavis of Nebraska, sixteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers; James, Jerald and Arnold Frasier.

Arrangements have been placed in the Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel of Spearfish.
