Mathilda (Millie) Katherine Van Der Werff, 89, of Lead, went home to her Lord on November 4, 2025.

Millie was born on March 8, 1936, to Herman and Ludwina (Gabriel) Bieber.

She is survived by her two sons, Randall (Brenda) McGruder and Matthew McGruder; grandchildren, Nathan (fiancée Briana Paulson) McGruder, Wade (Jessica) McGruder, Nicholas Steele-McGruder, Heather Steele, and Melissa (Grady) Lawrence; and great-grandchildren Daniel, Melodie, Jaxon, Oceanis, Sunnie, and Coalton. She is also survived by her brother, August Bieber, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ludwina; sisters, Esther Leatherman and Dianna Gallego; brothers, Harvey Bieber and Ray Bieber; and special daughter, Sheila Steele.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial at Grace Lutheran Church in Deadwood.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Deadwood. Lunch will be served following the service, with burial to follow at Mountain Lawn Cemetery.
