Mary Elizabeth Schaetzel opened her blue eyes to see heaven on February 22, 2010.

Memorial Service will be at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at United Methodist Church in Sundance with the Rev. Dave Moorman officiating.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for a new lift chair at the Crook County Memorial Nursing Home. Condolences and cards may be sent to P.O. Box 464, Sundance, Wyoming 82729.

Born on November 12, 1924, Mary was one of thirteen children born to Guy and Magdaline (Cholowinski) Dailey. She married her "honey" Robert Schaetzel on February 13, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI. Five daughters were born to this union-Barbara (Bob) Waalkens, Betty Jean Schaetzel, Diane (Robert) Huven, Kathy (William) Davis, and Valerie Ergish.

Together with Robert they owned and operated a restaurant in Monico, WI for 23 years. Upon retirement they built their dream home in Monico on Mars Lake. In 2002 they moved to Sundance to be closer to family.

Mary was town clerk in Monico for many years, enjoyed bingo, ceramic classes, and snowmobiling. Fond memories also include fishing, canning and eating her wonderful pies and cookies.

She also loved going back to Wisconsin for family reunions and the annual family picnics at the campground.

She was a grandma to ten and a great-grandma to twenty. Also survived by brothers; Walter Dailey, Wetumpka, AL, Frank Dailey, Waukesha, WI and Ora Dailey, Monico, WI and three sisters; Shirley Rose and Jean Nolte-Jewell, Yuma AZ, and Doris Johnson, Brookfield, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Magdaline Dailey, husband Robert, daughter Betty Jean, grandson Jeffery Huven, sisters Alice Hanson, Helen Checki, Eleanor Wilson, brothers George Dailey, Guy (Fat) Dailey, Lyle Dailey.
