Mary Jo Anglin Pavich

Born June 25, 1925, in Duluth, Minnesota to John Joseph Anglin and Mary Josephine Rochefort Anglin. Mary Jo passed away February 27, 2025.

Mary Jo was raised in Lead, South Dakota in the Black Hills. She attended St. Patrick's Catholic grade school and Lead High School where she graduated in 1943.

She completed Nurse's Training Colorado Training School (Denver General Hospital) where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1946. Mary Jo worked as an R.N. in California, Fort Meade Veteran's Administration Hospital in Fort Meade, South Dakota and St. Joseph's Hospital in Deadwood, South Dakota.

In 1950 Mary Jo married Frank Pavich at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lead, South Dakota. She experienced several adventures (road and train trips) across the country and visited Canada, Mexico, The Bahamas, Hawaii, London and Paris with her family. She served on the St. Patrick's Catholic Altar Society and volunteered for Meals On Wheels for many years.

Mary Jo is survived by her daughters; Patricia Henninger (Gary), Bozeman, Montana; Christine Hillger (Gene), Imperial Beach, California; Jeannie Pavich (Joe Barrett), Denver, Colorado; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank, daughter Maryanne Benham (James), brother John J. Anglim (Alda), parents and stepfather Norman Landguth.

Mary Jo's Rosary will be held June 24, 2025, at 6pm and her funeral service will be held June 25, 2025, at 10am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lead, South Dakota followed by a luncheon. Graveside service will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Lead, South Dakota.

Mary Jo requested donations in her memory be made to the Phoebe Apperson Hearst Library in Lead, South Dakota or the Twin City Animal Shelter in Lead, South Dakota.
