Obituary

Mary "Dolly" Anderson of Belle Fourche passed away December 6, 2024 at her home under the loving care of her daughter Micki.

Mary was born on December 17, 1936 in Deadwood to Lawrence and Louise (Darlow) Noren. She attended school in Chicago, IL, where her parents worked during the war and later in Spearfish. On March 27, 1955, she married Stanley Thomsen from Lead, to this union six children were born, Kitty, Micki, Stanley Jr., Brenda, Gregory and Karen. Stanley was in the US Navy, stationed in San Diego, CA. Following his discharge from the Navy they lived in the Los Angles area and later moved to Greeley, CO. While their children were young, Mary was a homemaker and later worked as a waitress, meat wrapper and cashier at Toddy's Grocery in Greeley. Stanley passed away July 19, 1995. Mary later married Clinton "Andy" Anderson on May 26, 1997. The couple lived in San Diego, CA for several years before moving to Nixa, MO. Andy owned apartments, Mary enjoyed helping with his business. After Andy developed lymphoma, they returned to Belle Fourche, where he could be close to Fort Meade VA Medical Center and his family in Rapid City. Andy passed away on June 29, 2010.

Mary enjoyed monthly luncheons with her high school friends, sewing counted cross stich projects, doing crossword puzzles and caring for her dogs and cats.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Micki Thomsen, Stanly Jr. and Gregory Thomsen all of Greeley, CO and Brenda (Keith) Christopher of Evanston, WY, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister, Lorraine (Edward) Figueroa of Olivet, MI and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Stanly Thomsen and Clinton "Andy" Anderson, brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence Jr. and Mary, two infant daughters, Kitty and Karen and grandson, Christopher Clark.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.
