Obituary

Mary Albers, 82, of Spearfish passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center.

Mary was born on February 15, 1930 in Bruce, SD to Robert and Elsie (Fish) Farrell. She attended school and graduated from Eagle Butte High School in 1948. On June 3, 1948 she married her "young brilliant dirt farmer", Orville Albers in Eagle Butte. To this union six children were born. In 1959, the family moved to Spearfish so Orville could attend college. After Orville's graduation the family moved to Las Vegas and Mary continued to be an amazing homemaker and mother to her family. In 1993, they moved back to Spearfish to enjoy their retirement.

Mary was an excellent seamstress making everything from jeans to formals, she even made her daughter's wedding dresses. She also loved to knit, crochet and a number of crafts. But her true treasured gift was her family and the laughter that filled their home. She surrounded herself with all of them as often as she could and pictures and memories were plentiful.

Mary is survived by her children; Orvette Stepper, Robert Albers, Nancy Czaplewski, Teresa Albers, Drew (Stacey) Albers and Kevin (Lisa) Albers; brother, David (Phyllis) Farrell; sisters, Velda Olson and Joyce (John) Lozier; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville; granddaughter, Jaimie JayLynn Albers; son-in-law, Ernest Nersinger and daughter-in-law, JoAnne Albers.

Upon her request, private inurnment will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 23, 2012 at the United Methodist Church.
