Marvin Eugene Lockman "Big Marv," 83, of Spearfish, SD died peacefully Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Spearfish Hospital surrounded by family.

Marvin Lockman was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 14, 1940 to Jack and Rose (Burbach) Lockman.

Marvin was married to Jaci Duyck on February 3, 1963.  They shared 61 wonderful years together. He never did anything without the love of his life, his wife, Jaci. He enjoyed long walks at Spearfish City Park along the creek & driving through Spearfish Canyon.  He also enjoyed working on Legos & putting puzzles together.  He was a very patient and forgiving man. He loved wearing his Husker attire as he sat to watch them play on Saturdays. He worked in highway construction and hauled scrap iron and metal until he retired at the age of 60.

Marvin loved spending time with his family and friends. He could carry on a conversation for hours. He had such a big heart and an amazing soul that everyone felt like family.  He impacted several people's lives to the point that some even considered him a second "Dad." He was the true definition of unconditional love.

Marvin is survived by his wife Jaci (Duyck) Lockman of Spearfish, SD; his children Sheryl (Jerry) Larive of Rockerville, SD, Cammy Lockman of Spearfish, SD, Marvin (Steph) Lockman, of Hays, KS, Dustin (Holly) Lockman of Summerset, SD, Kenny (Cozy) Petersen of Rapid City, SD; thirteen grandchildren Lieren Larive, Taylor Larive, Scott Novotny, Cory (Pasiensia) Lockman, Marissa Lockman, Breyden Heil (Brynn Johnson), Tristen Lockman, Tenley Lockman, Cortnie (Dakota) Douglas, and Darian Petersen; two great-grandchildren Griffin Luke, and Spencer Douglas; siblings Jim (Sandy) Lockman of North Platte, NE and Ron Lockman of Mitchell, NE; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mom Rose, dad Jack, brothers Richard and Leroy; sisters Erma, Delores, and Betty; nephew Andy and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
