Marlene Stell, 73, of Spearfish, SD, died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Spearfish Regional Hospital.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00AM on Monday, January 28th 2008 at Black Hills National Cemetery, with Pastor Steve Agan officiating.
Marlene Joann Boehler was born November 18, 1934 in Pollock, SD, to Arthur and Margaret (Bollinger) Boehler. She grew up in Mobridge, and moved with her father to Sturgis where she was graduated from Sturgis High School in 1952.
She married Kermit Gerald Stell on October 28, 1955, in Sturgis.
Marlene worked for many years as a medical transcriptionist at St. Joseph's Hospital in Deadwood. She and Kermit owned and operated the Best Western Motor Inn and Abigayle's Restaurant in Deadwood (now Best Western Hickok House) until they retired to Spearfish in 1991.
Marlene is survived by her husband Kermit of Spearfish; daughter Melodee (Tom) Nelson of Lead; granddaughter Abigayle (John) Heath, Tempe, AZ: grandson Adam Nelson and fiancé Jodi Van Beek, Sioux Falls; grandson Benjamin Nelson, Denver, CO; niece Vicki (Lee) Roath, Great Falls, MT; and great-grandson Johnathyn Thomas Heath, Tempe, AZ.
