Marjorie Louise Pirnat, 91, passed away at the Edgewood Memory Care Unit in Spearfish on April 20, 2024.

She was born on June 24, 1932, to Bill and Helen Davis in Livermore, Iowa.  Marge, along with her three brothers and one sister, lived with their parents on the family farm.  She graduated from high school in 1948 and then attended Wayne State University in Nebraska for one year.  In the early 1950s, Marge moved to Pierre, where she began a nearly 60-year career working for the State of South Dakota Health Department and the Legislative Research Council.

On March 13, 1953, Marge married Steve Pirnat and the couple had one son and two daughters.  She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, reading, and her cats.  She was active in Hospital Auxiliary and the Parent Teacher Association.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband in 2005.  She is survived by her children: Karl Pirnat of Lovelock, Nevada, Julie Pirnat of Pierre, and Carolyn (Bob) Weber of Spearfish; six grandchildren Nicole, Nick, Tell, Maggie, Shaunda, and Samantha; and great-grandchildren Tyler, Brenden, Zehara, and Landon.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements were under the care of Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapels and Isburg Crematory of Spearfish.
