Marjorie May McLain, 89 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 in Spearfish SD.
She was born September 17, 1928 in Hubbard, Ohio to Dale and Mary (Lewis) Marsteller. Following graduation from Hubbard High School she began working for the Youngstown Vindicator, as a community reporter.
Marjorie met her husband of 68 years, Charles, when he returned from the Second World War. They were married June 18, 1948. With an attitude of adventure they choose to move west, arriving in Rapid City in 1950
Marjorie was a talented homemaker and a partner in business with her husband. She nurtured a bond with her family through several moves to communities throughout the midwest.
An avid traveler, bridge player, and artist, her real passion was her family and friends. With her greatest joy being her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marjorie possessed a thoughtful nature. She always had a question to ask and a encouraging word for those with whom she would visit. She looked for positives in people, situations and had a kind heart.
They were blessed with two children, Charles C. McLain IV (Vicki) and Debra D. Niesent (Ron); seven grandchildren, Ryan (Tara), Racheal (Ben), Robert, Adam (Kelly), Mike (Melissa), Katie and Kip; twelve great-grandchildren, Rylee, Reagan, Ryder, Eden, Elijah, Emerie, Carerra, Izabella, Otto, Warren, Lexi, and Carolyn.
Marjorie is greeted by her husband, Charles; grandson, Robert Niesent; brother, Don and parents, Dale and Mary Marsteller in heavenly peace.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Spearfish. Inurnment will be at 2:00PM at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Northern Black Hills.
