Margaret E. Russett, sometimes called Susie, 79, died peacefully at home in Spearfish, SD on Sunday 1 April 2018.

Susie was born to Lars and Bertha (Olson) Ryland 30 June 1938 in rural Kingsbury County, SD. She attended the first 8 years of elementary school in rural one room schools. She graduated from Lake Preston High School in Lake Preston, SD in 1956. On 4 March 1957 she was married to David Russett, also of rural Kingsbury County, in Pipestone, MN. To this union 3 children were born, Dale (Caroline Stein), Debbie (Don Nieter), and Cindy (Hal Gillmore). Since her husband was in the military, they lived in numerous places across the USA and overseas. After the children were grown, Susie sold real estate.

She is survived by her husband David of Spearfish, son Dale of Yuba City, CA; daughters Debra of Toledo, OH; and Cindy, of Clayton, CA; four sisters, Lila Jones of Spokane, WA; Marge Baumberger of Rapid City, Peggy Lyle of New Mexico; Irene Olson of Washington state, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Lars and Bertha Ryland, two brothers, Art Ryland and Arnold Ryland.

Burial will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Black Hills National Cemetery.
