Margaret Christianson Palm, 93 of Arden Hills, Minnesota passed away November 1, 2008 after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for nearly fifty years.
Margaret was born October 15, 1915 in Lead, SD to William and Polly (Curnow) Christianson. Margaret graduated from Lead High School in 1933 and the University of Minnesota in 1937. While at the University of Minnesota, she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, and later a member of the University Alumni Association. She was united in marriage to Alton G. Palm on July 1, 1948 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lead. She spent her teaching career in the Minneapolis School District mostly at Edison High School. With the help of her personal assistants, she traveled extensively, including retuning to Lead for several Lead High School reunions. Margaret was a fifty year member of the Lead Chapter of the Eastern Star. She had been a resident of Presbyterian Homes in Arden Hills for nearly twenty years.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Kenneth Herbert of Sioux Falls, SD along with five nephews and four nieces.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband in 1987, her parents, three brothers; Clifford, Retired Col. Harold "Casey" and Dr. William Christianson.
Memorial services were held on November 8, 2008 at Presbyterian Homes in Arden Hills, MN. In keeping with Margaret's wishes she will be inurned in the heart of the Black Hills that she loved beside her mother and father in West Lead Cemetery.
