Obituary

Margaret Dinnell, 84, Belle Fourche, SD passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Belle Fourche Health Care.

She was born January 14, 1927, at home near Ainsworth, NE, along the Calamus River, to Ola Arthur Fisher and Cecilia Jane (Lewis) Fisher. In 1928 her parents moved the family to a ranch near Belltower, MT. Her father built the sod house they lived in and this is now a part of the Lee Lewis Ranch. When her parents divorced, her mother moved the children and herself seven miles west of Belle Fourche, where her mother worked as a housekeeper for Joe Greslin. Later he became Margaret's step-father, and they moved to a place in WY. Margaret learned to drive her step-father's 1928 Buick Convertible, which had a large wooden steering wheel and no power steering. Margaret Fisher married John Lawrence Migotti on June 19, 1943, in Broadus, MT. To this union three children were born; Virginia Faye (Frank) Svalina, of Oshoto, WY; Sharon Kaye Teigen, of Helena, MT; and Gerry John Migotti. She married Theodore Lowell Dinnell on April 17, 1964. To this union one son was born, Daniel Theodore Dinnell of Belle Fourche.

In 1950 she took a job cleaning the First National Bank in the evenings and did this for ten years. She also worked in the Treasurer's office from 1963 to 1973. She worked as a deputy sheriff in Butte County under George Hafner and Joe Smith. Around 1974 or 1975 Margaret and her husband got the franchise for Pittsburg Paint and opened a paint and unfinished furniture store in the building across the street from the mill on 5th Avenue in Belle Fourche. When the store closed in 1977, she painted and wallpapered right along side her husband. The couple moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in the fall of 1985. In the spring of 1987 they moved to Henderson, Nevada until their return to Belle Fourche in 1995, where she continued to reside until her passing.

Margaret has always been very proud of her spotless driving record, driving from the age of 13 years to 84 years without a ticket and absolutely no traffic citations of any kind. Margaret was a very hard worker all of her life, always doing without, so she could give to her family and others.
She enjoyed painting, gardening, sewing, embroidery, needlepoint and made many afghans. Her workmanship was the most perfect one will ever see.

She is survived by her husband , Ted Dinnell, son Daniel Dinnell both of Belle Fourche, two daughters, Virginia (Frank) Svalina of Oshoto, WY and Sharon Teigen of Helena, MT, three grandchildren; Tawny Shan (Jim) Tetrault of Saint Onge, SD, Ty Lawrence (Michelle) Teigen of Kennewick, WA and Slade (Linda) Teigen of Helena, MT, nine great-grandchildren; Ashley, Shae, Stevi Jo and Tucker Teigen of Helena, MT, Tymber Rose Teigen of Camp Crook, SD, Reilly and Madeline Teigen of Kennewick, WA and Tonn and Tallen Tetrault of Saint Onge, SD and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a precious son, Gerry John Migotti, buried at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche, grandson, Tait Louis Teigen, buried in Capital, MT, her father, Ola Arthur Fisher, buried in Leadville, CO, her mother, Cecilia Jane (Lewis) Fisher, buried at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche, one brother, Ola Theodore Fisher and one sister, Montana Jean Roush.
