Obituary

Mae Lindstad, 77, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at Spearfish Regional Hospital, Spearfish, SD. Mae left this world to join our Lord with her family at her side.

Mae Elizabeth (Maisenhelder) Lindstad was born January 1, 1934, to Harry and Isabel Maisenhelder, in Philadelphia, PA. She attended school in Philadelphia. She met Wayne Lindstad at a USO dance in Cape May, NJ in 1951. They were married in Philadelphia on March 29, 1952. Following Wayne's discharge from the Coast Guard, they settled in Wayne's hometown of Belle Fourche, SD. Wayne rejoined the family business, Lindstad Alignment and Mae became a devoted mother and homemaker. Being able to stay home and raise Dean, Sherry, Wendy and Suzanne was very important to her. After the children grew older, Mae's employments included real estate secretary, Deputy Register of Deeds and crosswalk guard at the Jr. High School. She was proud of the connection she made with the students. She enjoyed drawing, writing poetry and deeply loved music. She loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays.

Mae moved to Florida in 1995, to be closer to her brother, Harry. In 2008, she moved back to Spearfish, SD to be close to her family, where she resided until her death.

Her relationship with the Lord was a top priority and her greatest desire was to know her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were walking with the Lord. She attended the Church of the Nazarene and often commented on their warmth and friendship.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Jack and Harry Maisenhelder.

She is survived by her 4 children; Pastor Dean (Nancy) Lindstad, Huron, SD; Sherry (Randy) Drolc, and Wendy (Terry) Carr, of Belle Fourche; and Suzanne Cramer, Spearfish.

Grateful for having Grandma Mae in their lives are: Andy Lindstad, Denver, CO; Becca Kissick, Grand Junction, CO; Eric Lindstad, Minneapolis, MN; Ryan (Jamie) Drolc, Belle Fourche; Suzi (Brian) Groos, and Jodi (Michael) Wagner, of Aurora, CO; Erin (Brian) Baldwin and Tony Carr, of Broomfield, CO; Kristi Carr, Sioux Falls, SD; Holly Estes, McMinnville, OR; Nick (Jessica) Cramer, Spearfish; and 21 great-grandchildren.
