Lucille White, 89, Spearfish, SD died Monday, July 15, 2013 at Rapid City Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Lucille was born January 17, 1924 at Swampton, PA to Andro and Stella (Kozloski) Kopczynskie. She attended school in Jeddo, PA. In the early 1940's, she left school to become a riveter in the shipyards at Baltimore. She then joined the Woman's Army Corps, during her time in the army; she was stationed at Valley Forge General Hospital. She worked to rehabilitate blind soldiers during World War II.
September 11, 1945, she married Duke Raysor at Valley Forge General Hospital. To this union they had one son, J.R. Raysor. From 1947 until 2002, she worked for Edward L. Gruber, a knitting company, first as a seamstress, retiring as a plant manager. In 2002, she retired to Spearfish, SD to be near her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing board games, cards and puzzles.
She was very generous with her time when it came to friends and family. She was a very loving and caring grandmother.
Visitation for Lucille will be 4-6 PM, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spearfish. Inurnment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
Survivors include her son, J.R. (Cindy) Raysor, Whitewood, granddaughter Tonya (Troy) Mullaney and three great-grandchildren, Skyler, Jordan and Bryce.
