Lorraine "Rosie" Helen White Face was born in Rosebud, South Dakota on February 21, 1977. She passed away on February 1, 2024.

During her younger years and into adulthood, she attended Porcupine Head Start, Crippled Childrens School, Southeastern Mental Health and Black Hills Special Services Cooperative. She held jobs working in the puppet and Cap factory at BHSSC.  Rosie has been supported at the Northern Hills Training Center since 1997.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents and three of her siblings (Donavan, Fawn, and Samantha). She is survived by her brother Dennis White Face and many nieces and nephews, as well as her many friends from the Spearfish community and surrounding areas.

Rosie was a cherished soul whose vibrant presence touched the hearts of all who knew her. Rosie was more than just a girly girl with a penchant for jewelry, dresses, and the color purple; she was a beacon of joy and determination, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she encountered.

Despite her preference for expressing herself in ways other than words, Rosie's silent strength spoke volumes. Her unwavering determination and occasional stubbornness were testament to her resilience and fierce spirit. Those who had the privilege of knowing Rosie understood that beneath her quiet exterior lay a force to be reckoned with.

Rosie's love for tacos was legendary, serving as a reminder of her ability to find delight in life's simplest pleasures. Whether it was indulging in her favorite food or simply basking in the warmth of those she held dear, Rosie embraced each moment with a zest for life that was truly infectious.

Her impact will remain etched in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to share in her journey. Her legacy of strength, determination, and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
