Much beloved long time resident of Crook County Wyoming, Lloyd Melvin Rolf, passed away peacefully in Sundance, Wyoming October 18, 2011 at the age of 90.

Lloyd was born September 21, 1921 on the family farm in Belgrade, NE to Benjamin and Francis (Waters) Rolf. He served during World War II overseas in the United States Air Force, and was honorably discharged on March 29, 1946. One year and one month later he married Patricia Finch in Broadus, MT; the two made their home in Sundance, WY on the Jackpot Ranch. From this union came two sons, Dallas Lee and Steven Ray. Lloyd and Pat worked the ranch together for over fifty-two years while volunteering countless hours to local youth equine clubs, some of which include FFA, 4-H, and were founding members of the Crook County Horseman's Association. Lloyds greatest joy in life were his grandchildren and great-grand children that referred to him affectionately as their GG. He also enjoyed bowling, guiding hunters, spending time with his family and friends, and of course a game of cards whenever possible. Lloyd will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Lloyd was proceeded in death by his parents Benjamin and Francis, his wife Patricia, one brother Harold, and one granddaughter Ashley.

Lloyd is survived by both sons Dallas (Becky) of Sundance, WY and Steven (Frances) of Huntsville, AL, sisters Helen Johnston and Leah Smith, sister-in-law Alice Rolf, grandchildren Bonita (John) Carlson, Tyler (Charity) Lindholm, Augustus Lloyd Rolf, Jennifer (Sean) Caughron, and Jeff (Rhonda) Rolf, great grandchildren Zane, Audrey, Willow, Lillian, Caleb, Alexandria, Jacob, and Jace and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd is also survived by his wife of the last 8 years, Winnie Rolf of Bellvue, NE.

A memorial service with military honors will be held on October 25, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Episcopal Church in Sundance, WY, with Rev. JoAnne Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers please direct memorials in memory of Lloyd Rolf to Sundance VFW.
