Obituary

Lisa Marie Kraft, daughter of Bill and Dianna Kraft, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the age of 40. She was born June 4, 1968. Lisa grew up in the Gillette and Moorcroft area. She graduated with her peers at Moorcroft High School in 1986. She attended two years at Casper College. Lisa's journey outside the state of Wyoming began when she took a job as a nanny in the Oakland, California area in 1988. While in Oakland Lisa started her a career in bookkeeping with a focus on accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Lisa's career and adventurous spirit took her to the Seattle, Washington area and then to Mesa, Arizona. In addition to Lisa's job in bookkeeping, no matter where she was, she always had a second job. While working in Seattle, Lisa got a second job with Crate and Barrel. The company transferred her to their Scottsdale location and she continued working for them after she moved to Mesa. Her job at Crate and Barrel provided her the opportunity to meet people, share her smile with customers, supplement her income to support her book habit (Lisa loved to read, she read at least a book a week), and to add to her massive collection of dishes and kitchen ware at a really good discount. After several years of working as an accounts payable manager for a building company in Arizona, Lisa resumed her formal education. In 2005 she completed a rigorous nursing program at Scottsdale Community College. Soon after, Lisa started her career as a Board Certified Registered Nurse. Lisa found her passion and true calling as a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse. After working a couple of years in the Phoenix area, Lisa signed with an agency to become a traveling nurse. Lisa's first assignment took her to Pennsylvania. Through the next couple of years Lisa worked in Pediatric Intensive Care Units at large hospitals in, Massachusetts, the D.C. area, Nebraska, Texas, and then back to the California Bay area, where she began her journey as a young adult twenty years ago.

Lisa lived a full life where she was able to combine her love for caring for sick children with her love for adventure, new experiences, and travel. Although Lisa's career took her to several hospitals in several states over the years, Lisa kept the home she had purchased in Mesa and returned there in between contracts.

Lisa is survived by her loving parents, Bill and Dianna Kraft, siblings, Mandy Kraft, Mike Kraft and his wife Susy and son Drew, Shellie Kraft-Christian and her husband, Brent and their daughters, Brittany and Ashlynn. Lisa is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. She was welcomed into Heaven with open arms from her maternal grandparents, Art and Alma Hagerman, paternal grandparents, Willy and Magdalena Kraft, and several other beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lisa touched lives and made friends through her work and travels throughout the United States, all while finding time to keep in touch with, spending holidays and vacations with her family and long time friends. Her family is very proud of all that she accomplished as an independent, vivacious, adventurous, and fervent woman. She will be so dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Methodist Church in Upton, Wyoming with Pastor Joe Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Crook County.
