Linnea Burnham, 70, of Spearfish, SD, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Spearfish Canyon Healthcare, after a long battle with cancer.

Linnea was born on June 17, 1955, to William and Kay Limpert in Buffalo, SD. She went to a country school in the early years and then attended Harding County School. In 1971, she married Jackie Lee Thompson, and they had a daughter, Wendy Lee Thompson, on February 12, 1972. When that union ended, a later union gave her a son, Clinton James Burnham on October 30, 1982. She married Marvin Graylen Burnham and divorced five years later. In 2000, she got together with her soul mate George Smith. Together they spent 26 years of loving each other until the very end.

Linnea is survived by her two children, Wendy Thompson and her wife Vicki Thompson, and Clinton Burham and his wife Racheal and their sons Noah and Asher; brothers, Sandy Limpert, Albert Limpert and Mark Limpert and their families; and last her love and soul mate, George Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Kay; her sister Cindy Holman; Uncle Gary Welch and niece Courtney Limpert.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:30PM Monday, March 23, 2026, at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Burial will take place on a later date in Buffalo, SD.
