Lindell Crawford, 84, of Sundance, Wyoming, passed away at his home on July 10, 2026.

Lindell was born on April 6, 1942, in Little Falls, MN, to Lawrence Clayton Crawford and Hazel Lydia (Hartland) Crawford. He was the youngest son of eight children and grew up in a close-knit family that valued hard work, self-reliance, and the rural way of life. The family moved to Winner, SD in 1946 and to Sundance, WY in 1957. Lindell graduated from Sundance High School in 1960.

Lindell served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Following his military service, he returned to northeastern Wyoming, where he lived and worked for the rest of his life. After retiring, he and his wife, Barb, spent many enjoyable winters traveling and living in the Southwest. Most of his career, he was employed by the Wyoming Highway Department and was respected for his dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic.

Lindell was first married to Bonnie Humble in 1967, and to this union three children were born: Riley Crawford, Ryan Crawford, and Dawn Crawford.

In 1984, Lindell married Barbara Jean (Cox) Crawford, and together they made their home outside Sundance. Lindell welcomed Barbara's children, Darbi and Philip, into his home and was a loving stepdad they could always depend on.

Lindell enjoyed the outdoors, and especially loved fishing and camping. Whether spending time at a favorite fishing spot, gathering around a campfire, or simply enjoying Wyoming's beauty, he found happiness in nature and the simple pleasures of life. He was also an avid reader and was well known at the Sundance Library. Family gatherings and sharing stories about his family and life were among his greatest joys.

In addition, Lindell was a talented craftsman who created handmade knives that became treasured possessions for many. Though his work was highly valued, he never had an interest in selling his knives, preferring instead to give them as gifts to family members, friends, and worthy causes. He also enjoyed restoring old tractors and sewing machines, bringing new life to vintage machinery through the same patience, skill, and attention to detail that characterized all of his craftsmanship.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Crawford; his parents, Lawrence and Hazel Crawford; his brothers, Wilbur Crawford and Larry Crawford; his sisters, Wanda Schultz and Joan Manker; and numerous other family members.

Lindell is survived by his children, Riley Crawford, Ryan Crawford, and Dawn Crawford; his stepchildren, Philip Cram and Darbi Hunt; his sisters, Marilyn "Dollie" Blauvelt, Ollie Darlene Parks, and Donna Robinson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a large circle of cherished family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family plans to scatter Lindell's ashes, along with those of his beloved wife, Barb, this fall in a place dear to their hearts.
