IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Gail
Giles
June 12, 1945 – February 6, 2026
Linda Gail (Keeler) Giles, age 80, passed away on February 6, 2026, at her home in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, surrounded by her family.
Linda was born on June 12, 1945, in Anoka, Nebraska, to Ovada (Billiter) and Friend Keeler.
Throughout her life, Linda was known for creating a warm and welcoming home for family and friends. She and Bob provided a loving environment for everyone, regardless of their circumstances, and accepted others unconditionally. In her eyes, you were never a “step” or an “in-law” — you were hers from the start. Many lovingly called her “Mom” or “Grandma.” She cherished every moment with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Linda was strengthened by her faith, which came to her later in life. She and her family were baptized together at the Presbyterian Church in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Her faith provided comfort as she cared for her mother, mother-in-law, and Bob’s aunt (Rosie Baker) at the end of their lives, and it sustained her during her own courageous battle with cancer.
She was also known for her crocheted Angel Blankets. Her charity and generosity were demonstrated through donations of handcrafted blankets to New York firefighters after 9/11, Community Violence Intervention Centers, and other charitable organizations, as well as to countless family members and friends.
Linda is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Robert Giles, who she married on 4/30/1966; her children, Jim (Becky) Giles, Janel Lawson, and Realene (Chad) Olson; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Larry Keeler; and her mother- and father-in-law, Ruth and Winfield Baker, as well as her brother-in-law, Steven Baker.
The door she always kept open for others now opens into eternity, and her love will remain the heart of our family. Her greatest legacy lives on in the family she loved so fiercely and unconditionally.
