Lillie Wanita McCuen, 86, of Moorcroft, Wyoming, died December 23, 2010, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO, surrounded by family.
She was born September 12, 1924, in Lutesville, Missouri. She graduated from Western Wyoming College with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. She was a successful business woman and well respected artist. Her artwork hangs in several governors' mansions as well as having been honored by The Who's Who in American Historic Woman Artists.
Lillie married Edward H McCuen on September 8, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by parents, George and Beulah Lee; brothers, George (Junior) Lee, Gary Lee, Harry Lee; and sisters, Gerry Lee, Sue Thennes, Mable Whitehead, Merle Rondue; grandson, Tommy Scritchfield, great grandson, Levi Scritchfield.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Dennie Woodruff, brothers and sisters-in-law Otis and Orla Lee, Alvis and Veta Lee, and Edward and Donita Lee all from Missouri; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Glenn Williams of Colorado Springs, CO; Margaret and Robert Trivett of Kingman, AZ; Elda Dellinger of Loveland, CO; and grandchildren, Gailon Scritchfield of Colorado Springs, CO; Judy and Bob Ankeney of Colorado Springs, CO; Gayle Riachi of Albuquerque, NM; Gary and Amy Steinberger of Flagstaff, AZ; Jenna and Matt Marshall of Kingman, AZ; Ashley and Jordan Scritchfield of LA; and Chrystal Dellinger of Denver, CO and many great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Funeral services will be held January 8, 2011, at 2pm, at Prairieview Baptist Church in Moorcroft, WY, with graveside services at Moorcroft Cemetery.
