Leslie Configliacco, 92 , lifetime resident of Lead, SD passed away on April 4, 2014 in Rapid City , SD.
Leslie was born on September 16, 1921 to Venere and Mary (Vidano) Configliacco. He attended school in Lead and graduated from Lead High School. After high school he enlisted and served in the Army during World War II. Leslie retired from the Civil Service and moved back to Lead.
Leslie enjoyed his family, doing crafts and gardening.
Leslie is survived by his nephew, Michael (Barbara) Configliacco of Ohio and their daughter, Leslie Ann Silva of Ohio; niece, Connie (Thomas) Holso of Lead, and their children, Anthony (Debra) Holso of Rapid City, Timothy Holso of Spearfish and Tamara (Randy) Kintz of Pierre; nephew, William (Darla) Configliacco, of Idaho and their sons, Tony (Becky) Configliacco of Alaska, Bruce (Wendy) McConville of Idaho and Bryan (Jill) McConville of Nevada and numerous great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Leslie was the last of the family, preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Theodore "Cheeto" in 1969, a lifelong employee of Homestake Mine, Russel in 1979, Manager at Miners & Merchants Bank, Fred in 1980, a lifelong mining employee in Silver Valley, Idaho, Raymond in 1998, professional laborer and sister, Evelyn in 2013, employed at Northwestern Bell, considered to be the "Godmother" of the family
Leslie received wonderful care and support from Golden Living Meadowbrook and staff, Dr Wessel and Hospice of the Hills.
Vigil services will be at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lead with visitation one hour prior at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the church with Father Peter Kovarik as Celebrant, burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lead. A reception will take place at the church following the burial.
Arrangements are under the care of the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead.
