Leonard Latuseck, 83 of Lead, SD passed away on March 26, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Denver, CO.
Leonard was born in Grant County, ND to John "Ole" and Mary (Zeller) Latuseck on November 23, 1931. He went to school in Leith, ND and graduated in 1950. He came to SD and worked at Homestake Gold Mine before entering the Army in 1952, and was honorable discharged in 1954. He came back to SD and in November of 1955 he began working at the US Post Office and retired 34 years later. Leonard married Jeannette Scott on December 10, 1955 and to this union five children were born.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Jeannette, Lead; children, Alan Latuseck, Lead Diane (Jerry) Carda, Lead, Gary (Holly) Latuseck, MN, Susan (Kevin) Clary, CO and Mark Latuseck, AZ; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Melissa; great-grandson, Bentlee; two sisters, Evelyn Bentz, ND and Lillian Morris, MN and seven brothers, Jerry and Julius both of SD, Don, Bob, Dick, Harry and Kenny of Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the chapel. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Lead.
