Leona (Strunk) Dillon, 89 of Sundance, Wyoming passed away January 23, 2011 at Crook County Memorial Hospital in Sundance.
Funeral services will be at 2:00P.M., Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Sundance United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Sundance.

Leona was born September 8, 1921 to William Jacob and Sarah Elizabeth (Bell) Strunk in Gay, Oklahoma, the sixth of nine children. When she was nine, her mother died from complications of childbirth. When she was twelve, her father remarried. In 1937, she moved to California to live with her sister, Eunice and her family. It was there that she met her future husband, Rex Dillon.
She graduated from Redlands High School in Redlands, CA in 1941. She and Rex were married on January 31, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nevada. After Rex returned from the service the couple settled in Sundance, where she has lived since. Leona worked in the court house for a short time and at the Golden Rule. Rex and Leona owned and operated the Arrowhead Motel, Melody Court Apartments and Dillon's Hardware before retiring. After "retiring ", Leona worked for Dillon's Hardware, Durfee's Department Store and Jack & Jill Shop. Leona was happiest around children, some of her favorite times where babysitting her nieces, nephews and great nephews.
She is survived by her daughters, Nelda Hoech and Peggy Dillon of Sundance, granddaughter; Kellie Hoech of Sundance, one brother, William Taylor (Peg) Strunk of Aurora, Colorado, sisters-in-law, Pauline Kanode of Sundance and Lee Dillon of Upton, WY as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; Eunice, Lenora and Omega and brothers; Granville, Nonie, Calvin and Joe.
