Lawrence "Pat" Bernard Patenode 88, of Spearfish, SD went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Pat was born in Camp Crook S.D. to Zeno and Pearl Patenode on November 22, 1929. He lived there until he was 6 years old then moved to Spearfish. He lived a short time in Denver, CO. In 1955, he found his way back to Spearfish. Pat became a hardworking man at the early age of 15, driving everything from dump trucks to Kenworth semi-trucks. Pat delivered his last load of fuel when he ended his long career and retired in 2008 with the Dixon Brothers.

Pat enjoyed going to the Millstone where he would have coffee and meet up with old friends to talk about the good ole days. He enjoyed playing bingo at the VFW. He also traveled the world visiting places like Alaska, Germany, and Holland and enjoyed train rides through the states to view the country sides.

He is preceeded in death by his parents, Zeno and Pearl Patenode; the love of his life, Florence "Flo" Patenode; sisters, Gladys and Mary Lou; sons, Kenneth Patenode and David Patenode. He is survived by sons, Robert Patenode, Roseburg, OR, Carl (Diane) Patenode, Drain, OR, Patrick (Susie) Patenode, Clark, SD, and Larry (Cheryl) Patenode, Johnstown, CO; daughters, Rose (Fred) Raczykowski, Lyle, WA and Shawna (Mike) Johnson, Slayton, MN. Pat adored each of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Friday, August 3rd at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 4, at Mountain View Baptist Church, in Spearfish.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
