LaVonne Alice (Kuil) Nelson, 80 of Deadwood, SD passed away at her home surrounded by her family on October 7, 2016.
She was the second child of Henry and Louise Kuil, born January 30, 1936 at their home near Platte, SD. She married Edward Nelson on May 27, 1962 in Winner, SD. The couple lived in many places throughout their marriage, finally making Deadwood their home in 1977. LaVonne worked in many different venues, where her bright smile and great personality served her well. She loved life and her family like no other. Following retirement she spent her time doing crafts, dancing, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Louise Kuil, brothers, John and Donald Kuil, brothers-in-law, Lawrence Nespor and Gerald Morganfield and mother and father-in-law, Frances and Edward Nelson.
LaVonne is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Edward, her children; Robert (Donna) of Deadwood, Terry (Debbie) of Winner, Vickie of Deadwood and Randy (Theresa) of Deadwood, her grandchildren; Robert Nelson Jr., Bradley Nelson, Tennille Miller, Brittany Strong, Zachary Nelson, Lucas LaForest, Caraline LaForest, Michael Prado and Christopher Prado, one sister, Geraldine Nespor, one brother, Verlyn (Patty) Kuil, sister-in-law, Lois Morganfield, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews
Memorial services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Deadwood. Inurnment will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to benefit Hospice of the Northern Hills.

Arrangements are under the care of the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead, SD.
