Obituary
Kenneth Julius Frederiksen was born in Horton, Wyoming to Julius and Martha Frederiksen on July 8th, 1936. He passed from this life on July 17th, 2012 at home in Sundance.
He attended country school in Horton and Four Corners and later graduated from Sundance High School. After graduation he enlisted in the Army for 2 years. He was stationed in Germany- while there he was able to go to Denmark and meet his maternal grandmother, Katrina Peterson, and many other relatives. After returning he was married and from this union he had three daughters. He worked construction most of his life but always called Sundance home. Later on he married Dorthea Rank on top of Sundance Mountain and they shared their lives together until her passing. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, hunting and fishing, and periodic trips to Deadwood with his special friend Darlene Offdenkamp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorthea, step-daughter, Linda, sisters, Irene Snell and Anna Canfield, brother-in-law, Wallace Canfield, nephews, Ivan Snell, Leslie Sipe, and Jordan Gose, and nieces, Dorothy and Miranda Madsen.
He is is survived by his daughters; Beth (Dave) Ellsbury of Sundance, WY, Juli Shoun (Tim Fitzer) of Sundance, WY, Brenda (Chuck) Diehl of Winterset, IA, step-daughter, Karen (Rod) Will of Sheridan, WY, six grandchildren; Levi (Kara) Ellsbury of Cheyenne, WY, Morgan Ellsbury of Sundance, WY, Colter (Sarah) Ellsbury of Sundance, WY, Whitney Ellsbury of Upland, CA and fiancé Jeff Stull of Casper, WY, Shayla Diehl and fiancé Leo O'Brien, and Zeb Diehl all of Winterset, IA, two great-grandchildren Lyman and Ridley Ellsbury of Sundance, WY, sisters, Ellen(Dorman) Ewing, Saratoga, WY, and Eda (Don) Gose of Upton, WY, brother, Karl(Joan) Frederiksen, Casper, WY, numerous nieces and nephews, and a special little buddy, Kylene Westcott.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Sundance United Methodist Church.
He will be laid to rest at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Sundance next to his wife Dorthea.
