Kenneth "Ken" C. Brecht, 69, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at his home of a heart attack.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Sept. 8, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 204 W. Goshen St, Moorcroft, WY. Memorials can be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ken's name.
Ken was born on June 23, 1947 in Wheatland, WY to Harry and Clara Brecht of Glendo, WY. He attended Glendo Schools, Casper College and University of Wyoming. He did military service in the U.S. Army as a Field Radio Mechanic in Germany and Vietnam.
He married Joey K. Hunzicker on September 18, 1976 at Esterbrook, WY. They had homes at the various state parks in WY as Ken was employed by the Wyoming Recreation Commission (now WY State Parks and Cultural Resources) for 30 years. Ken retired from State Parks in 2003 with 30 years of service. They moved to Gillette, WY where he went back to school for Diesel Mechanic. He worked for Interstate Diesel for several years. At the time of his death he was employed by Rimex, a Canadian company selling large wheels and rims for the mine trucks.
His one special hobby was doing the Quigley Black Powder Shoot in Forsyth, MT.
He is survived by his wife, Joey K.; his sister, Dorothy Tozier (Steve) of Thorton, CO; nephew, Jason Tozier of CA; niece and family, Kristin, Tom and Baby Alex of Cortland, IL; brother-in-law and wife, John J. and Etta Hunzicker of Casper; sister-in-law, Judie Waters of Waseca MN; nieces and nephews, and one special extended family, the Drummonds. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Clara Brecht; Special Aunts, Lucy Koch, and Molly Lipscomb.
