Kelly Schmidt, 61, Spearfish, died on July 20, 2016 at his home.
Kelly was born June 29, 1955 in Webster, South Dakota, to Frank Schmidt and Jane Schmidt.
Kelly was a longtime resident of Spearfish and was a logger where he owned and operated his business, KLS Timber Harvesting.
He is survived by his parents, Frank Schmidt and Jane Mattson; son, Dustin (Missy) Schmidt; daughter, Darcy (Jim) Bates; grandchildren, Alice Bates and Alden Schmidt; brother, Kerry (Mary); sister, Kristi Schmidt and his beloved dog Sammy. Kelly was preceded in death by his brother, Kurt Schmidt and step-father, Henry Mattson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Countryside Church in Spearfish.
Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapels and Crematory Service of Spearfish.
