Kelly Glen Hitson Sr, 67 of Spearfish, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at his home.

Kelly Glen Hitson Sr. was born September 5, 1957. He was born to June (Winger) Hitson and Glen Hitson in Rapid City, South Dakota. Kelly spent his life in Spearfish, South Dakota. Where he attended grade & high school. He then worked at the Homestake Mine for nine years. He was born a natural mechanic and spent years fixing many things.

Kelly married Barb Miles in 1979, and they had two children, Kristi Sutton and Kelly Glen Hitson Jr. (KG). He was a long-time devoted volunteer fireman for Spearfish Fire Department and was successful at both fighting fires and cooking for their sponsored events.

Kelly met and married his soulmate Betty Lenners in 2003; They spent many inseparable years, often riding their Harleys, making many memories and friends while raising their combined family. Kelly and Betty started the Dakota Gold Mustard Company in 1999 and won many awards. It was his grandma's Mutchler's recipe.

Kelly was diagnosed with lung cancer seven years ago and bravely fought it till the end. (A warrior with his commitment to life).

Survived by his wife Betty Lenners, his children, Mother June Hitson, Brother Kevin (Alva) Hitson, and seven grandchildren.

He is proceeded in death by his father Glen Hitson.

Kelly donated his body to the USD body donation program.
