Belle Fourche-- A cure was not to be. Keith Duane Carpenter joined our Heavenly father April 12, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Keith was born on July 15, 1963 to Don and Rosemary (Biel) Carpenter in Deadwood, SD. He graduated in 1981 from Spearfish High School. Keith was united in marriage to Sherri Annette Oban on July 7, 1984 in Spearfish. His pride and joy were his two sons, Branden and Dusten. The family has lived south of Belle Fourche since 1985. Keith loved to hunt, fish, and rumble in the hills whenever possible with family and friends. Keith worked at Pope and Talbot in Spearfish since 1982.
Survivors include his wife Sherri (Oban) Carpenter, Belle Fourche: two sons Branden and Dusten Carpenter, Belle Fourche; his father Donald Carpenter Jr., Nisland; and two sisters, Donna (Larry) Beshara, Sioux Falls; Bonnie (Victor) Vodopich, Spearfish; father-in-law Kenneth Oban and several nieces and nephews, friends, and special friends Tammy (Wilson) Halvorsen and Mary Geersema. Keith was preceded in death by his mother Rosemary, mother-in-law Geraldine and grandparents.
Visitation will be from 1:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Saint James Episcopal Church in Belle Fourche with Reverend Mike and Reverend Evelyn Weaver and Reverend Sandy Williams officiating.
Friends and family are welcome to join us at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17th 2008 and we will proceed to Boyd Cemetery at Four Corners, Wyoming for burial and join the family for coffee and cake at the Four Corners Church.
