Kay Mikkelsen, born January 18, 1937, in Rolla North Dakota, passed away October 24, 2024.

Kay attended Mayville State in Mayville ND, where she received her teaching degree.

After Kay retired from Gate City Bank she moved to Dickinson ND where she attended St. John Lutheran Church.

Kay had a very active and social life. She was always doing something like running with her friends in mini marathons or riding bike with her best friend Meredith to Ludlow SD! Going to the gym to work out and then having coffee with her friends. She was always meeting up with friends for some activity or to help out in some event.

She was an avid golfer and went on weekend golfing excursions with three of her friends to various golf clubs around the state.  She also worked at the golf course in South Heart for years.

Kay also let everyone know she was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers!

She was able to travel to a few different countries and on several cruises.

She took it upon herself to learn to play the piano and then later the guitar.

Kay created many beautiful quilts that she gave out to friends and family. Those quilts will be forever cherished by them.
Kay raised four boys, Brian (Van-Ha), Forrest (Kari), Glen, and Paul (Nancy), who loved her very much. Kay loved her four granddaughters and ten great grandkids very much and loved seeing them grow up.  She was preceded in death by her son Glen.
She will be missed.

A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date.

Cremation arrangements were under the care of Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapels and Isburg Crematory of Spearfish.
