Kay Arlene Havner (Cranston), 56, Moorcroft, formerly of Cheyenne, WY, passed away Thursday, Nov.18, 2010, in her home.
Kay was born March 28, 1954, in Newcastle, WY, to Gene and Wyoma Cranston. Kay grew up on the family ranch south of Upton. She graduated from Upton High School in 1972. She married Paul Havner on February 14, 1972, in Upton, Wyoming, they then moved to Cheyenne, WY where she went to work for the State of Wyoming in 1974. After 33 years of service she retired in 2007. She then moved back to the Cranston family ranch in Moorcroft.
Kay loved to golf, play cards, travel, and spend time with her grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
She is survived by two children, Cory Havner of Cheyenne, and Michele (Heber) Edwards of Cheyenne; daughter-in-law, Carri (Smith) Eldridge; beloved friend Rod Carter; 12 grandchildren (Tayler, Jordan, Haiden, Ashley, Devyn, Dawson, Trenton, Landin, Saige, Teegan, Eve, Brinnlyn); 7 brothers, Robert (Ginna) Cranston, Roy (Janet) Cranston, Gary (Marie) Cranston, Mike (Mecint) Cranston, Mark (Suzie) Cranston, Kent Cranston, Ivan (Jennifer) Cranston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Wyoma Cranston and her father-in-law Paul Havner.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at the Pine Ridge Community Church in Carlile, WY.
A Celebration of Life service will be Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Airport Golf Course in Cheyenne, WY.
