Kathryn M. Magelky, 96 of Spearfish died Monday, November 24, 2008 at Dorsett Regional Senior Care in Spearfish.

Visitation will be from 1-5 P.M., Friday, November 28, 2008 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.

Vigil services will be at 7:00 P.M., Friday, November 28, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spearfish.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 29, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Godfrey Muwanga as Celebrant, burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.

A memorial has been established to benefit St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Kathryn was born December 29, 1911 to Mike and Anna (Mellmer) Lampl in Adams County, North Dakota. She grew up and attended rural school near Bucyrus, ND. She married Anton Magelky December 1, 1930 in Regent, ND. The couple farmed southwest of Havelock, ND for twenty-five years. They moved to Spearfish in 1956 and purchased the Shady Pines Motel in 1957. The couple owned and operated the motel, until Anton passed away in 1974.

Kathryn was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Spearfish Senior Citizens and Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

Kathryn is survived four daughters; Dorothy Feiler of Spearfish, Delores Fresonke of Buckley, WA, Madonna Pachl of Dickinson, ND and Annette Perkins of Lake Wales, FL one son, Curtis Magelky of Scottsbluff, NE, twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Alton, three brothers; John, Joe and Mike and sister, Laura Klemm.
