Karen Lee Murray, 60, of Lead, SD, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Memorial Services for Karen will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 4, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lead.
She was born March 9, 1951 in Aberdeen, SD to Robert and Arvilla (Dodge) Murray. In 1956 the family moved to Lead where she attended school and graduated in 1970.
After graduation Karen was employed by the VA Hospital in Hot Springs. She worked as a nurses aide and eventually started working as a dialysis technician. At the age of 58 Karen retired and moved to Lead.
Religion was an important part of Karen's life in Hot Springs and Lead. She was happiest when she could help or assist family and friends. Karen loved to read, take pictures and enjoyed being with family.
Karen is survived by her mother Arvilla Murray of Lead, three sisters, Debbie Munoz (Fred) of Vidor, TX; Brenda Kraft (Terry) of Mobridge, SD; Vicki Edlund (Mike) of Lead, one brother Jim Murray of Spearfish, SD. Karen's nieces and nephews were very important to her. Linda, David, Trent, and Bailey Croak; Ashley and Shawn Jackson; Kayla and James Jacobs and Jordyn Kraft; Jackie and Kaden Merrill; Josh and Fay Edlund; Trisha Edlund; Jace Edlund; Shana, Nate, Rylan, Kayden, Layne, Layton, and Morgyan Loup; Jessica and Aubrey Murray; Cory Murray.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert Murray, her nephew Christopher Munoz, her sister-in- laws Tamara Murray and Tracy Murray.
