Carmella "June" (Daleo) Goines of Spearfish passed from her mortal existence on Friday, January 11, 2013 due to complications of a severe stroke.
Mom was born May 10th 1927 the first child of five born to Mamie Backer and Natale Harry Daleo. Mom lived her way and to the fullest, never afraid of taking chances. She was raised in Los Angeles and attended Lincoln High School there.
At age 17 she met my father, Daniel Lesnikoff, they married 1944 and had four beautiful children. They later divorced in 1964. She went on to live in Northern CA. Later coming back to her home area, she met Louis Goines (now deceased), from there she moved to Texas. They divorced in 1985. With her daughter, Jeanne in 1985 pulling a little U-haul moved back to CA. She resumed her favorite occupation of working at Whittier drug store, working various areas of the store, pharmacy clerk, photo center and her favorite the greeting cards then also working at a Hallmark store, where she then only sent "The Very Best". In 1997, Mom wanting change in her life covered and was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, later she received her endowments in the Los Angeles Temple, from that she not only tried to improve her life but quit smoking. In 1996, she then moved to Oceanside, CA to be close to her daughter Jeanne.
Mom learned how to use the computer and learned how to go on chat. Soon finding her next sweetheart Kenny (now deceased) from there they moved to Cranbrook, Canada and later to CO, to be close to her sister-in-laws, Alice and Mary. About 1 1/2 years later she was to meet her companion Charles Fillmore moving to SD, where she has lived for the last six years.
Mom loved her family very much and would try to attend as many events, weddings, birthdays, graduations as possible.
Mom is survived by her children; Danny Lesnikoff Jr. (Renee), Susan June Andersen (Dennis), Jeanne Kramer (Fred), and Alice Lesnikoff, her twin sisters, Norine Miller and Dorine Wickizer (Jesse). She also is survived by eight grandchildren; Ron Kramer (Sherry), Donna Holland (Bo), Christopher Kramer, Jennifer Church, Shawn Davis, Holly Blodgett, Daren Lesnikoff and Debbie Wagstaff and l5 living great grandchildren and one deceased great-grandson, Jared Kramer whom I know will be happy to greet her.
She goes to be reunited with her mother and father brother Joseph and sister Natalie.
Her last words spoken to me on December 28th were "God be with you till we meet again". That is my prayer. Rest in peace, mom.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Deadwood.
