Obituary
June Patricia Anderson passed away at the David M. Dorsett Health Care Center after a lengthy battle with alzheimer's on Thursday November 15, 2012, surrounded by her family. June was 78 years old.
June was born on June 2, 1934, in Gascoyne, North Dakota, the youngest of nine children of Ture and Emelia Anderson.
She attended school in Scranton, North Dakota, and married Ray Kaitfors September 8, 1950, in the Scranton Lutheran Church. She and Ray then moved to the family farm in Ralph, South Dakota raising five children and a niece until their divorce in 1968.
In 1971 she married Bill Emeline of Scranton, moved to Wisconsin and raised two children until their divorce in 1981.
In 1982, June moved back to South Dakota and resided in Spearfish with her children until her death.
June enjoyed raising her children and taking part in the lives of her grandchildren through the years. She was drawn to a life of community giving, becoming a nursing assistant and volunteering many years at the High Plains Heritage Center in which earned her the honor of "Volunteer of the Year". She enjoyed baking, cooking, and was well known for her exquisite wedding cakes. She enjoyed singing and performing with her sister, Arlene, brother-in-law, Stan Kaitfors and friends, Floy Washburn and Sandy Justice. She also always enjoyed entertaining family and friends always.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Ture and Emelia Anderson, brother, George Anderson, sisters, Helen Orcutt, Edna Parker, Doris Hanson, Esther Werre, Nan Kaitfors, Arlene Cornella, and granddaughter, Erin Kaitfors.
She is survived by brother, Bud Anderson, sons, Ray Kaitfors Jr. (Chris), Jeff Kaitfors (Carol), Leslie Kaitfors, Mike Kaitfors (Lezlie), William James Emeline (Samantha), daughters, Kristi Jo Corey (Virginia) and Michelle Trandahl (TJ) and niece, Sandra Kaitfors (Cindy), fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 6 pm. at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Funeral services and burial will be at 11 am, Tuesday, November 20th at the Ralph Lutheran Church in Ralph, SD with fellowship and reception to follow.
