Her early career included years with Dotson Manufacturing, and MDU Manufacturing in Mankato, Mn. Her greatest career challenge was driving a Komatsu haul truck for NARM Coal Mine, in Gillette, Wyoming.
Julie enjoyed traveling to many destinations; New York, Mexico, Florida, Nashville, Arizona, Las Vegas, Utah and trips to the Black Hills. So she loved giving tourist information for travelers in the Black Hills.
She moved to the Black Hills with her family in 2016. Julie loved the great outdoors, and catching those big Trout with her brother, Jon.
She was quick to help a neighbor or a friend. Her favorite reads were the Chicken Soup for your Soul series, by Jack Canfield and Love Your Life No Matter What (I Believe Poem).
Her biggest joy was celebrating holidays and dinners with her family.
She is survived by her children: sons, Nigel and Gavin. Her brother Jon. Mother, Yvonne (Lonnie). Preceded in death by her father Jon M Schmiesing.
In lieu of flowers a memorial bench in her honor is being planned. And it will be placed in the Black Hills that she cherished.
Julie's last wishes were for the family to scatter her remains at Bridel Vail Falls in Spearfish Canyon, SD.
Cremation arrangements were under the care of Isburg Crematory of Spearfish.
