Julie Bulat, 78, of Spearfish, SD peacefully passed away on Friday November 15th, 2024, at her home in Spearfish.
Julie was born June 18, 1946, to Llewellyn and Mildred Everhard in Watertown SD. She was a graduate of Watertown High School and a graduate from USD in Vermillion, SD, achieving a degree in Fine Arts. After college, she moved to the west coast and had numerous jobs in the Los Angeles area. One of them entailed working with the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, being involved with set and advertising design. She moved back to South Dakota and met the love of her life Tony Bulat. They married on December 17, 1970, in Watertown SD. Julie and Tony would have some of the best years of their life, while Tony was a Pilot in the USAF. During this time, they moved around as most military families do and had two children, Christopher John, and Wess Stephen. After Tony retired from the USAF, Julie and Tony moved their family back to the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota to live out their lives. Julie had several jobs while living in Spearfish. She was involved with the restoration of the Mathews Opera House, and an employee at Wal-Mart and her last job was working at Premier Bank.
Julie was a member of the Northern Hills Quilters Guild, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Catherine Thybo Chapter)
Julie is survived by her son Wess and his wife Shelbi of Whitewood SD, Grandsons Braeden (Roni Voller) and Brody and her granddaughter Brynlea, her brother-in-Law, Paul (Ann Kelly) of Jackson, Wyoming and numerous friends and family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Tony, son Chris, In-laws Jack and Anne, Aunt Velma, and parents Lewellyn and Mildred.
A service will take place at a later date in the Spring of 2025 at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis. In Lieu of gifts or donations please make donations to Northern Hills Quilters Guild and Daughters of the American Revolution (Catherine Thybo Chapter).
