Judy
Schraver
Dec 2, 1937 — Sep 12, 2026
Spearfish, SD
Saturday
Judy Schraver, lovingly known as “Ahmie” to her family, passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 88, with her family at her side. Born in Albany, New York Judy lived a life filled with love, laughter, service, and devotion to her family and friends.
Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack. She worked as a nurse and proudly served four years in the United States Navy.
Judy will be remembered for her intoxicating energy, quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and her “always down for anything” attitude. People were naturally drawn to her. Her incredible memory and genuine interest in others made everyone feel special and made each person feel as though they truly mattered.
She was famous for her homemade spaghetti and meatballs, thoughtful cards, and legendary “FYIs.” Whether it was an approaching storm, a local or national event, or even a time change, you could always count on an FYI from Judy. Her reminders were just another way she showed the people she loved that she was thinking about them.
Family was at the center of Judy’s world. She is survived by her daughter, Teri, and her husband, Dave; her son, John; her granddaughters, Katie and her husband, Matt; Amy and her husband, Jake; and Sarah and her husband, Lee; and her four great-grandchildren, Maverick, Eli, Gannon, and Emmy.
Judy’s laughter, energy, humor, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She lived life on her own terms, was always ready for the next adventure, and knew how to enjoy a good glass of Baileys along the way.
Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on through the family she loved so dearly and the countless lives she touched.
And whenever the clocks change, a storm is coming, or someone pours a glass of Baileys, we’ll think of Ahmie and smile.
A Celebration of Life will be held October 24th, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Joy Center-1351 St. Joe - Spearfish SD 57783. Parking is available.
