Judy Ann Evans, 81, of Deadwood, South Dakota, passed away on March 19, 2026.

Judy was born July 12, 1944 in Neptune, NJ Raised in Dolton, South Dakota and moved to the Northern Hills in 1975, where she made her home and built a life centered on family, faith, and the simple joys she loved most. She found great happiness in spending time with her family, especially during the Christmas season, which she cherished deeply. Judy also enjoyed fishing, camping, and scrapbooking, preserving special memories for those she loved. Her faith and involvement in church were important parts of her life and provided her with strength and community.

Judy is lovingly remembered by her son, Russell Alan Evans II (Angie); her daughter, Cherish Nicole Gran (Heath); her brothers, Roger Duerksen and Bruce Duerksen (Karen) sister Sandi Duerksen (Tom) and her beloved grandchildren, Samantha Marie Portales, Lilian Nicole Evans, Luke-David Alan Evans, Jackson Richard Gran, Ryan Nicholas Gran, and Harvey Dalton Gran. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Grace Duerksen.

Judy will be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to family, and the many memories she created and preserved throughout her life.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Services will be held at 11:00AM, March 28, 2026, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Lead. Burial will follow the service at family ranch at 2:00PM.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
