Juanita (Snell) Goodsell, 82, of Spearfish, passed away November 8, 2012 at the David M. Dorsett Home in Spearfish, SD.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at the Nemo Community Church, Nemo, SD. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD. A memorial has been established to Hospice of the Northern Hills.
Juanita was born February 21, 1930 in Wall, SD, the second of five children of George and Johanna (Bastian) Snell. She grew up in the Quinn, Pedro and Cottonwood areas. She went to grade school at the Miller Country School. Her transportation was her horse. She attended high school in Quinn, living in the boarding house.
While in high school, she met the love of her life, Carrol W. Goodsell. They were married August 23, 1947 in Gillette, WY. To this union 6 children were born.
Carrol talked Juanita into moving to the Black Hills in 1953. Juanita spent the early years of their marriage being a wife and mother. In the late 1960's, she started working outside the home. The majority of her career was in the medical field starting out as a nurses aide, retiring February 2010 as a Ward Secretary.
Juanita is survived by her children, Carrol D. (Jan) Goodsell, Spearfish; Gerald Goodsell, Arvada, CO; Janice (Gary) Kaberna, Nemo; Jeannette (John) Rebman, Sheridan, MT; Carleen (Greg) Brownlow, Deadwood; 10 Grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren and brothers, Sam, Paul and Kenneth Snell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, son Kenneth, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
